The mesmerizing world of Cirque du Soleil collided with the celebration of citizenship as 400 of Canada’s newest citizens from 65 different countries were welcomed in a special ceremony, marking the 40th anniversary of the iconic circus troupe.
Led by The Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, the event was a grand spectacle, touted as one of the largest citizenship ceremonies in recent memory and the largest across Canada so far in the year. Citizenship Judge Rodney Simmons oversaw the proceedings, adding a touch of officialdom to the vibrant affair.
