Last cat of the Hill carrying on Purrliamentary legacy

Title: Last Surviving Parliament Hill Cat, Coal, in Need of Public’s Help for Medical Bills
In the heart of the country’s political hub, Coal Taurozzi has been the purr-fect companion to millions of visitors and even harbored aspirations of becoming the prime minister. As the sole survivor of the cherished former cat colony on Parliament Hill, Coal has been a symbol of joy with his sleek black fur and piercing green eyes.
His pet dad, Danny Taurozzi, who adopted Coal after the sanctuary closed in 2013, is now reaching out to the public for support. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched to assist with the mounting medical expenses for Coal’s aggressive salivary gland cancer.
Describing Coal as a “charismatic, gentle soul,” Taurozzi shared, “He’s a special little guy.” Recently, the distinguished Parliament Hill cat underwent surgery to remove a malignant tumor, and although he is currently cancer-free, he requires ongoing treatment for arthritis and kidney disease.
Despite having pet insurance, the medical bills have proven to be substantial. Green Party Leader Elizabeth May commended Taurozzi’s efforts and emphasized the importance of supporting Coal, the last surviving member of the iconic Parliament Hill feline community.
At 16 years old, Coal remains as curious and loving as ever, harkening back to his days as a kitten abandoned and nurtured in the parliamentary cat colony. Throughout the years, volunteers like Brian Caines have tirelessly cared for these feline companions, creating a memorable legacy on Parliament Hill.
The sanctuary, once home to over 30 stray cats, was a beloved fixture on the Hill, with politicians from all backgrounds visiting and even engaging with the feline residents. Following a spay and neutering initiative, all the cats were adopted out, with Coal finding a forever home with Taurozzi.
As the end of an era looms, Taurozzi is determined to give Coal the best life possible, cherishing their bond and the memories of the Parliament Hill cat community. In the midst of Coal’s health battle, the public’s support and generosity are crucial in securing his well-being and comfort in his golden years.
