Montréal, June 26, 2024 – Today, the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship, made an exciting announcement in Montréal regarding a significant investment in the city’s arts and culture scene. The federal government has committed to injecting $31 million over two years into the Canada Arts Presentation Fund, with $800,000 allocated to support TOHU, a renowned performing arts theatre, and the captivating circus programs of the Festival Montréal Complètement Cirque.
This investment will not only bolster local artists and cultural institutions but will also bring the magic of the circus to the streets of Montréal for 11 days. Audiences will be treated to spectacular performances from both local talents and international artists, turning various venues, parks, and even sidewalks into stages for high-flying acts.
