Minister Miller to attend citizenship ceremony in Toronto

In an extraordinary event that combines culture, art, and citizenship, the Honourable Marc Miller, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship, will be hosting a special citizenship ceremony to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Cirque du Soleil. This symbolic occasion will see 400 individuals hailing from 65 different countries officially becoming Canada’s newest citizens.
Set to be one of the largest citizenship ceremonies in recent memory, this celebration will be the grandest across Canada so far this year. The ceremony will be overseen by Citizenship Judge Rodney Simmons, adding an air of officialdom to the festivities.
Adding to the enchantment of the event, Cirque du Soleil ECHO performers will be present to enchant and uplift the new citizens as they join in singing the national anthem, forming a unique and memorable experience for all in attendance.
The celebration is scheduled for Friday, July 19, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. ET in Toronto.
