**Canadian Adventure: Moshkovits Family Travels National Parks Seeking Treasures**
Roee and Ashira Moshkovits from Toronto are not your average holiday-goers. While most families flock to water parks and roller coasters for summer fun, the Moshkovits have taken a unique route by exploring Parks Canada’s list of national and historical sites.
For the past several seasons, the Moshkovits have packed up their camper and hit the road to visit nearly 70 sites across Canada. This summer, their expedition has led them to Gros Morne National Park on Newfoundland’s picturesque west coast.
It’s not just sightseeing for the Moshkovits siblings – it’s a treasure hunt. The 11-year-old Roee and his 13-year-old sister Ashira are on a mission to collect dog tags or tokens from each park they visit. The colorful collectibles are part of a Parks Canada program that rewards children for completing tasks or exploring specific sites.
Showing off their impressive collection of dog tags, Roee proudly explains, “You collect them and add them to a chain or whatever you would like.” These tokens have become cherished mementos for the children, serving as a reminder of their adventures and learnings about Canada’s rich history and culture.
For Ashira, the highlight of their travels so far has been Rocky Mountain National Park. “I kind of liked going up there and looking out from them and the feeling of standing at the top of the mountains. It’s just amazing,” she shared.
Their parents, too, are thrilled with their children’s enthusiasm for exploring the country’s national treasures. With plans to discover more sites in Newfoundland like L’ance Aux Meadows, Cape Spear, and Signal Hill, the Moshkovits are on a quest for new experiences and knowledge.
As the Moshkovits family continues their quest for adventure, one thing is clear – their love for Canada’s natural beauty and history knows no bounds. Join them on their journey to uncover the hidden gems of Parks Canada’s national and historical sites.
