In an extraordinary celebration of diversity and unity, Minister Marc Miller of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada is set to host an unprecedented citizenship ceremony welcoming 400 new citizens from 65 different countries. What makes this ceremony even more special is that it coincides with the 40th anniversary of the renowned Cirque du Soleil.
This monumental event is not only one of the largest citizenship ceremonies in recent memory, but it also holds the distinction of being the largest ceremony held across Canada so far this year. Taking place in Toronto on Friday, July 19, 2024, the ceremony will be presided over by Citizenship Judge Rodney Simmons, adding an air of official grandeur to the proceedings.
Adding to the festive atmosphere, Cirque du Soleil ECHO performers will join the new citizens in singing the national anthem, symbolizing the harmonious blend of cultures and talents that define Canada’s multicultural fabric.
